Gleaners Pantry is a Whatcom County, non-profit association, dedicated to helping our local families become more self-sufficient.
Gleaners Pantry has no paid administrative staff but operates and depends solely on their membership.
Members assist each other by maintaining the facility, sorting produce, trading childcare, recipes, and skills. It is the goal of the Pantry to help build successful and healthy families within the community. Gleaners Pantry believes that everyone should have the opportunity to work for what they receive. Gleaners Pantry helps members lower grocery costs, learn new skills, assist farmers in cleaning up their fields and reduce the amount of food going to landfills. Several days week, members gather to sort through food that might otherwise go to waste and distribute it amongst themselves. Additionally, the Pantry organizes seasonal farm gleans for members.
